Having dedicated my career to building participatory, future-ready workforce strategies, I am proud to support the 2025 Workforce Development Conference presented by Community Nexus. This event is not just a gathering but a call to action.
Community Nexus is bringing together a dynamic coalition of leaders, thinkers, and changemakers across New York State to reimagine what workforce development can and should look like. From caregivers to CEOs and educators to entrepreneurs, this conference offers a unique opportunity to learn from each other, address critical challenges, and co-create solutions that benefit everyone.
I endorse this initiative because it emphasizes collaboration and real-world impact values that drive meaningful change and are exactly what our workforce needs during this transformative moment.
The Future of Work is critically important now, as we are at a pivotal point where technology, demographics, and societal needs are reshaping every aspect of employment. Today's decisions about how we train, support, and lead people will shape the resilience and equity of tomorrow's workforce.
This conversation is essential for advancing our shared mission of inclusive economic growth.
In 2024, 78% of organizations reported rapid AI adoption, a significant increase from 55% the previous year. Additionally, the Bureau of Labor Statistics anticipates a 17.9% growth in software developer roles from 2023 to 2033, highlighting the increasing demand for AI-related skills.
Workers using generative AI have reported saving an average of 5.4% of their work hours weekly, leading to a 1.1% increase in overall productivity.
However, the World Economic Forum projects that by 2025, AI will create 11 million jobs while displacing 9 million, illustrating AI's dual impact on employment.
Alongside experts Ary Aranguiz, CPTD, and Kristin Mayo, we will explore topics such as:
- Ethical AI Integration: Strategies for implementing AI that uphold fairness and inclusivity.
- Adapting leadership styles to guide teams in AI-enhanced environments: Safety, responsible use, and governance.
- Identifying and cultivating the skills necessary for future-ready careers.
As a workforce strategist, I am committed to crafting programs that embrace technological advancements while prioritizing fair access and opportunities for all.
The future of work is unfolding now. Equip yourself with the knowledge and strategies needed to navigate and lead in this evolving landscape.
Let us collaboratively shape a workforce that is not only technologically adept but also resilient, inclusive, and forward-thinking.
